Brew City event announces call for submissions, new partnership with Turner Hall.
Milwaukee Comedy announces preliminary details regarding this year’s Milwaukee Comedy Festival. The tenth annual Milwaukee Comedy Festival will take place August 6-9th, 2015. Along with shows at the Next Act Theater, 255 S. Water St., MCF is excited to present a Special Presentation at The Historic Turner Hall Ballroom, 1040 N. 4th St. on the last day of the festival, Sun. Aug. 9th.
“Over the past decade we have witnessed an explosion in our comedy scene” Said Matt Kemple, festival Founder and Producer. “So it would only make sense for us to partner with a Milwaukee landmark such as the Turner Hall to celebrate our 10 Years of laughs, and I couldn’t be prouder.” Details on those performing will be released soon, so stay tuned!
The Festival also announces a national call for standup comedians, improvisation groups and sketch comedy troupes to submit to perform. Those interested may do so as of March 1, 2015 via the Milwaukee Comedy Festival website.
The Milwaukee Comedy Festival was created as an effort to cultivate an active comedy community where artists can hone their craft, create new and exciting comedy, as well as foster an inviting environment for audiences and performers alike. Founded in 2006 as the Sketch and Improv Comedy Festival, The MCF has featured comedians from across the country and Canada. Past performers have appeared on Late Show with David Letterman, Comedy Central, television and movies. A Milwaukee Comedy Showcase will focuse on local performers, while a Teen Comedy Show features Wisconsin area high school students.
