About the comics:

Lizz Winstead

Lizz Winstead (Co-Founder of The Daily Show)

As co-creator and former head writer of The Daily Show and co founder of Air America Radio , Lizz Winstead has helped changed the very landscape of how people get their news.

Winstead also brought her political wit to The Daily Show as a correspondent and later to the radio waves co-hosting Unfiltered, Air America Radio’s mid-morning show, with Chuck D and Rachel Maddow.

Known as as one of the top political satirists in America, Winstead has been recognized by all the major media outlets including The New York Times, The Washington Post and as Entertainment Weekly’s 100 most Creative People.

Winstead’s first book, Lizz Free Or Die, Essays, was released in 2012 to incredible reviews, with Ms Magazine saying, Lizz Winstead is a sharp-witted truth-teller, and Lizz Free or Die will inspire anyone who has ever talked back to the television or wished they could come up with satire as insightful as The Daily Show”

Lizz continues doing stand-up, is working on a second book but spends most of her time at the helm of Lady Parts Justice, a reproductive rights organization that uses humor and outrage to expose anti choice zealots and mobilizes people to take action in all 50 states.

Aida Rodriguez

Aida Rodriguez (2 specials streaming on HBO and Showtime)

Aida Rodriguez is a new Afro-Latina, taking the world of entertainment by storm with her wit, strong performances, and charismatic personality.  Making history as the first Latina to appear in two specials air in one month on both HBO and Showtime, Rodriguez was handpicked by director Taylor Hackford for his film “The Comedian” starring Robert De Niro. In 2017, Coca Cola Global Women’s LINC Conference sponsored Rodriguez’s speech that modeled a TED Talk. Rodriguez has also appeared on Comedy Central’s The Nightly Show, five-time host of the PBS Imagen Awards, NBC Last Comic Standing’s finals, TRUtv’s Laff Tracks, Fox Laughs, Nickelodeon Mom’s Night Out and Parental Discretion.

Aida Rodriguez wears many hats as comedian, actress, writer and mother. Sharing her point of view of the world, she writes comedy that is poignant and incisive. Her audiences often laugh hard, think hard, and feel hard as her comedy is cathartic and confrontational. Known as Funny Aida, Rodriguez aims to challenge the norms of today and the discomfort or taboo-quality around controversial topics like race, gender, sexuality, and family dynamics through her comedy. From the moment she takes the stage, the audience is engaged whether in laughter or in thought. Rodriguez’s comedy is not only medicine for the soul, but it may one day just change the world.

About LPJL:

LPJL is the reproductive rights organization that uses humor and outrage to fight back online and on the ground against enemies of reproductive freedom (i.e. We’re EVERYWHERE). Part USO, part Habitat for Humanity, LPJL is the only nonprofit that travels the country doing comedy and providing aid and comfort to independent clinics in hostile states.
