Milwaukee Comedy Festival Seeks Talent

9th Annual event accepting local and national acts.

MILWAUKEE, WI – The Milwaukee Comedy FestivalWisconsin’s Largest Comedy Event is accepting submissions now through May 15th, 2014 at 11:59pm for the 9th Annual Milwaukee Comedy Festival taking place August 7-10, 2014 at the Next Act Theatre space, 255 S. Water St., Milwaukee, WI. Submissions are accepted via an online application form from comedy performers of all types including stand upimprovisationsketch comedyone-person showsalternative comedy acts and musical comedy. The submission form is available on the official MCF website, http://festival.milwaukeecomedy.com and physical applications are available by request.  A submission fee, $25 for stand up or $30 for improv or sketch comedy, is required along with basic contact and performer information.

Local as well as national and international performers are encouraged to apply. This year, the Milwaukee Comedy Festival celebrates nine years of laughs.

Since its inception, the MCF has featured over 1,000 funny people in more than 50 shows. Performers have come from across the country including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Seattle as well as Canada including Toronto and Vancouver. Audiences have traveled from all parts of Wisconsin to attend, as well as Chicago, Minneapolis., St. Louis, Indianapolis, Ohio and Massachusetts.

About the Festival

The Milwaukee Comedy Festival (formerly the Sketch and Improv Comedy Festival) was founded to support and grow the comedy scene in Milwaukee.  The largest event of it’s kind in the state of Wisconsin, The Festival features national and local comedy acts of all kinds. The MCF aspires to cultivate an active comedy community where performers can hone their craft, create new and exciting comedy, and foster an inviting environment for both audiences and fellow performers.
